Rome was the best unexpected two-day trip we ever experienced. What we anticipated would be a single-day marathon (and sprint) turned into frustrating night of cancelled flights and late-night airport stays.
We left for Rome from Tuscany after a stunning wedding in wine country (view our gallery here) and had planned out our stops strategically to visit all of the major must-see sights and maximize our time in the most historical city in the world. Our first stop dropped us off at the Coliseum. Words are not adequate for the scale of what once was.
My favorite part of Rome – aside from the incredible architecture – was the TREES!
